Cancer touches many lives, and the experience forever changes those who have a friend or family member stricken with the disease. That’s why, in 2001, a group of 44 young Houstonians came together to found Young Texans Against Cancer to increase cancer awareness among 22- to 40-year-olds.

With chapters in Houston, Austin, Dallas, and San Antonio, YTAC supports research and support organizations, while volunteering in the community. Each member has either lost a loved one to cancer or witnessed someone battle the disease, so they serve from a very personal place.

YTAC’s Dallas chapter has raised more than $985,000 since its establishment in 2008. YTAC raises awareness through several events throughout the year, such as an annual chili cook-off and the beloved BubblyQ.

The organization also serves as a support system for members who meet at quarterly happy hours, where lifelong friendships are given the chance to form.
