Top Dallas Realtors: Meet Becky Frey, a Modern Real Estate Expert with a Vibrant Personality
June 17th, 2013 | by The Update
There are a lot of real estate agents in the Dallas / Fort Worth region, but few compare to Becky Frey. Her vibrant smile, warm heart for people (and dogs!), and her enthusiasm are matched only by her incredible real estate expertise.
An Arkansas native and SMU graduate, Becky Frey enjoys a highly successful real estate career dating back to 1983. She has closed more than $400,000,000 in sales and continues to rank among one of the most respected realtors for modern and traditional luxury homes in the metroplex. Becky compares her business to the marathons and triathlons in which she loves to compete. Each requires a training plan and total commitment – sticking with the deal and crossing the finish line.
• Voted BEST OF D MAGAZINE in real estate several times over the years.
• Recognized as one of the Top Five Realtors® at Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty
We’re thrilled to have had an exclusive interview with Becky this past week! Read it below:
Update: Do you have a favorite modern architect?
Frey: LAKE-FLATO – I have their books all over my house.
Update: What do you think should be the #1 consideration when searching for a modern home?
Frey: Location. The way a modern design is situated on it’s site is important to most modern buyers.
Update: What is your favorite aspect of Modern Design?
Frey: I like the connection of the indoors and the outdoors in modern and contemporary designs.
Update: Who is your favorite local modern interior designer or architect?
Frey: It’s not easy to pinpoint just one – we have many talented people in Dallas. Four local architects/firms that I have enjoyed working with are: Bentley Tibbs, Stocker Hoesterey Montenegro, Moore Design, & Bodron+Fruit. I think the greatest modern interior designers of today are Alice Cottrell & Joshua Rice.
Update: What street or neighborhood do you think could be considered a modern enclave in Dallas?
Frey: In Devonshire, I am pleased with a street of homes along Farquhar Lane. There are gorgeous creeks and a lake which create a perfect site for these moderns right in the middle of the city.
Update: What are you seeing in the modern real estate market for 2013?
Frey: I must mention that there seems to be a blur between the definition of modern and contemporary. Warm contemporary homes are in high demand in Dallas, but, stark modern designs remain a much smaller niche and remain in less demand. There is a big demand for simplifying life so people naturally are attracted to contemporary, clean, thoughtful designs.
Update: What are some modern listings that you currently have?
Frey: I have modern listings from $5,000,000 to $100,000! 3601 Euclid Avenue in Highland Park is a new listing, we just sold 3918 Fairfax Avenue in West Highland Park, and I just put our condominium at The Buzz under contract at 1111 S Akard #211. There have been several others that we have sold in 2013 – You may browse the photos on my website www.BeckyFrey.com on the LISTINGS and SOLDS links.
