Color affects our moods in more ways than we realize and is important to consider when showing your home. There’s a reason why your favorite café is decorated in soothing blue or green hues, while an active local hotspot may be done up in exciting yellows and reds. So when it comes to decorating your home, which hue is the right one for you?First, decide what sort of ambiance you want to have in each room. Here are some of the most common moods associated with each basic color:

Redhigh-energy, powerful, exciting
Orangesocial, joyful, extroverted
Yellowoptimistic, open, inviting
Green: natural, balanced, peaceful
Blue: soothing, calm, deeply relaxing
Violetcreative, intuitive, regal

Decide what mood you want to set and use a variety of tones within each color to create depth.
