(Dallas Morning News) — More than three-fourths of Dallas-area residential districts are seeing higher home sales prices this year.
In some neighborhoods, median prices in the first half of 2012 were up by double-digit percentages from the same period last year.
The widespread gains in prices of pre-owned homes sold through real estate agents’ multiple listing services is another indication that the local housing market has turned the corner.
“Signs of a recovery in the North Texas housing market continue to accumulate,” said D’Ann Petersen, an economist with the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. “The broad-based increase in the median home price in North Texas reflects other price indexes that also show prices have recently started to pick up.”
