Cultivating Beauty: Tips for Creating Curb Appeal Even in the Summer Heat
Posted June 19th, 2012 | by The Update
No matter where you live, it’s incredibly important to maintain great curb appeal when selling your home. While it seems like the Texas heat would make that a challenge, there are actually several easy things you can do to keep your landscape green and lush even in the summer months.
Rebecca Winn of Whimsical Gardens recently shared a few of the tips she gives her clients. Here’s her first tip for cultivating beauty in your yard:
Water Your Trees
Many people don’t think trees needed additional watering since they draw water from deeper in the earth, but even your hardiest trees need a good soaking every now and then. Two times a month, water big trees deeply by using a soaker hose or gator bag to concentrate water at the base of the tree. Do this for at least an hour with the hose on low. Don’t wait for your trees to show signs of thirst— maintain this routine for dependably green and lush foliage.
