‘Tis the Season for Caring and Sharing at the Crystal Charity Ball

Crystal Charity Ball Chairman Connie O’Neill and Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty CEO Robbie Briggs look forward to the gala event.
It’s a night when everything that glitters brightly is meant to shine the light on those most in need.
“A community is only as great as those it serves. By lifting up those in need, we create a better community for all of us,” explains Connie O’Neill, 2011 Crystal Charity Ball Chairman. The organization, which was formed in 1952 to provide support for children’s charities in Dallas County, will transform the Chantilly Ballroom at the Hilton Anatole into an elegant winter wonderland to host the annual Crystal Charity Ball on Saturday, December 3, 2011.
“This is our big opportunity to thank the hundreds of donors who make it possible for Crystal Charities to have such an impact in Dallas,” says O’Neill. “’Tis the Season’ is the theme of this year’s Ball, and it’s all about remaining thankful and grateful during the holiday season.” Also high on the list of those being saluted at the event are the organization’s volunteers who spend over 3,000 hours each year conducting site visits, researching and vetting each financial request and every organization that will receive a gift. “The credit goes to those who are out there every day making sure that kids are being helped and organizations are being supported,” she adds.
The Ball, long regarded as one of the high points of Dallas’ famous social season, will feature dinner, dancing and a silent auction that, for the first time, will be accessible to those outside the event. Contact the Crystal Charities offices at 214-526-5868 to register, then log on to www.bid214.com during the event. Virtual bidders will be able to access the same one-of-a-kind items and experiences that donors and sponsors have assembled specifically for this event.
Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty will help add a bit of destination envy to the evening by donating five trips to luxury locals from Telluride to Punta Mita, Mexico. “We were thrilled to put the word out through our worldwide network so we could provide fantastic trips and be part of the great work of the Crystal Charity Ball,” says CEO Robbie Briggs. These trips and other exciting vacations, items and services will be auctioned to help the group meeting their $4 million funding goal.
