DFW's Cameron Mitchell May Have Walked Away from "The Glee Project", but He's a Winner in the Eyes of His Fans

Earlier this month, Cameron Mitchell, the Colleyville native who stole many hearts with his quirky style and amazing talent, shocked his fans when he decided not to continue with Oxygen’s The Glee Project. Despite seeming to be a favorite among the show’s judges and having a solid fan-base, he walked off the show citing personal convictions that had to do with his faith (his dad is a pastor at a church in DFW).
But that wasn’t the end of his story; D Magazine’s Frontburner reports,
“As it turns out, [leaving The Glee Project] may have helped his career more than hurt it. Not only did it generate a lot of media interest, his fan base has exploded as well. Mitchell’s YouTube channel has attracted more than 2.3 million views, his five-song “Love Can Wait” LP cracked the top 25 on iTunes—and last night he was named winner of The Glee Project’s “fan favorite” competition, which netted him a $10,000 prize.”
Congratulations to Cameron for showing you can use your talent while still staying true to your roots!
