D-FW and Texas rank high on recent economic report

“The Texas real estate market deserves props for getting through two years of a nuclear economic winter and only catching a cold,” reported Steve Brown of the Dallas Morning News this past week. While financial crises are still devastating markets across the globe, Texas’ housing and commercial real estate sectors are standing relatively strong.
Housing in D-FW and throughout Texas ranked near the top of Brookings Institution’s most recent economic report. Furthermore, the Brookings analysis indicated that North Texas is one of the regions with the highest economic output, strongest job markets and smallest home price declines.
